Here are some of the NEW Easier-to-Hit  Hybrid Irons  that will replace your hard-to-hit irons.    Hybrid irons  provide the playability of a fairway wood coupled with the accuracy of an iron.  They are used anywhere irons are used.   You can expect  better trajectory, more consistency, and at least the distance (usually more) of a well struck iron of the same loft. 

NOTE: 
It should be noted that the 3 and 4 irons, whether they are hybrid irons or std. irons, are not expected to yield the distances of any 3, 4 or even 5 wood.  A good rule of thumb is that an iron numbered about 4 less than the fairway wood should yield similar distances to that wood.  That is, a 1 iron is approximately equivalent to a 5 wood and a 5 iron is about equivalent to a 9 wood.

   SHOULD I SWITCH TO THE NEW HYBRID IRONWOODS?   

1. If you feel more confident hitting higher lofted fairway woods than irons,   or
2.  you don't use your #3, #4, #5, or even your 6 iron any more, or

3.  you can get more distance from a 9-wood than a 5-iron, or

4. you seldom take a divot when hitting your middle irons, or

5.  you have even considered carrying woods like the #11 or #13,
